Possible Blog Updates

possible blog updates (1) (1)

Right now, I’m thinking of revamping my blog and adding a little bit of fabulousness to it. Here are some possible blog updates and I’d like to know what you think of them!

1. New theme and blog design

I’m not too sure about this one because it will be a lot of work if I changed themes again but I just changed my blog design a little a few days ago and I also changed my header.

2. T.V. series and movie reviews

I’ve been watching a lot of t.v. series right now and I’m thinking of sharing my thoughts with them for you guys. I’ll probably do it by season. As for movies, they may be book to movie adaptations or just regular movies.

3. Co-reviewer

You know guys that I haven’t been reading much now so my blog lacks book reviews. I’m not sure if I will actually look for a co-reviewer but I’m open for the possibility of it!

4. Author interviews

I’ve been wanting to do this for months now! There’s this one author that I really want to interview but I’m so shy about it.

5. My writing

I don’t know if you guys will be okay with my writing updates. Or should I just post them to my tumblr…?

6. Move to self-hosted WordPress…or to a subdomain

I’ve been thinking about this a lot lately. Moving to a self-hosted site is such a huge responsibility I’m not sure I’m ready for yet. I also don’t know the technicalities (um, is that the right word???) of moving to a subdomain site..

Pretty please tell me what you think of these possible blog updates! Do you have your own blog? What are some of the things you did to “revamp” it?

  1. I like the new header, Angel!
You can change the theme if you’re up for it and want a new look, but I like your minimalistic design and I think it works well for your focus. The layout is nice too.
I’m a firm believer about blogging for one’s self so if you’re comfortable with sharing your writing and thoughts on movies/shows go ahead! I totally understand why you’re hesitant to though. A few months ago when I posted my review on Big Hero 6 and my discussion post rant about the Korean pop industry, I was really nervous if my readers would like posts like that being mainly a book blogger. But I’m so glad I did. I met so many other cool non-book bloggers that way. And surprisingly, that K-pop post is my most popular/viewed one. But yes, I think 2 and 5 are great features you consider trying.
And becoming self-hosted is a huge commitment. I’m sure you’ve already read Ashley @Noze Graze’s post on that. Did that help you? I’ve also thought about going self hosted but I may do that a couple of years from now. I’m not sure yet…
Anyway, I hope I helped you a little bit (or maybe made your more confused, haha)! ^.^

    • Yay thank you so much! My first review would be Agents of SHIELD. I’m also thinking it would be a couple of years before I go self-hosted. It’s just a huge responsibility.

  2. OMG I HOPE YOU MOVE TO SELF-HOSTED WORDPRESS RACHEL! It is absolutely amazing and has so many more features than WordPress.com does. I can’t wait for you to (hopefully) make the move! 😉

And I’m looking forward to the TV and movie reviews too. 🙂 Sometimes there are just so many book reviews that it’s fun to get a change of pace every once in a while. xD

  3. I’m using Dre’s subdomain (reads-it.com) and she handled everything for me! And it’s like free WordPress, with more add-ons and freedom. And the perk of that is free, great themes!
